Untitled (glitched objects)
Untitled (glitched objects)

3D printed PLA plastic and shag carpet.

Untitled (glitched objects) as a part of the exhibition “Between a Site and a Home”.

I generated these glitched objects through a botched 3D scanning process of a bathtub’s cast-iron clawfoot, an egg platter, and a corn holder. Like a panoramic photo, when you 3D scan an object you take many photos that software stitches together to create a three-dimensional object. I incompletely scanned these domestic objects, or scanned them far too many times, and let the software stitch the scans together and “fill the holes” based on surrounding surfaces. I exported these glitched models and 3D printed them.
